BACKGROUND
SPARK is a national research initiative focused on autism, aiming to collect data from individuals and families to support long-term scientific studies. I helped build out the brand and digital experience with a strong focus on accessibility, empathy, and visual clarity.Along the way, I discovered how important small design decisions were for this audience. We used softer color palettes, increased button sizes, and adjusted spacing to reduce visual stress. Warm photography and hand-drawn illustrations helped make the experience feel more human and approachable. The registration flow was built with flexibility in mind, allowing users to save progress and return later. Within the first eight months, over 48,000 individuals enrolled.
